The Michelson Collection

The Michelson Museum of Art presents changing exhibitions from the permanent collection of Leo Michelson’s work that spans two worlds and seventy years of Michelson’s career. The collections includes over 1000 paintings, drawings and prints.

The Kronenberg Collection

Dr. Bernard Kronenberg was an art patron and an opthalmologist from New York. He collected 20th century American art. Dr. Kronenberg’s widow, Gloria, gave this outstanding collection to the Michelson Museum in 1999. The collection includes paintings, drawings, lithographs, and statues by artist such as Milton Avery, David Burliuk, John Edward Costigan, Chaim Gross, Fred Farr, Arnold Friedman, Oranzo Gasparo, George “Pop” Hart, Eugene Higgins, Georges Rouault and Abraham Walkowitz.

The Ramona and Jay Ward Collection
of African Masks

This addition to our permanent collection was given to the Michelson by Ramona Ward, widow of Jay Ward. Mr. Ward was the creator of the cartoon, Rocky and Bullwinkle, George of the Jungle and Dudley-Do-Right.
